Ballerina Bunny

This bunny come from the One Skein Bunny by Deb Richey for Caron International. You can find this free pattern on their site.
When I first saw this bunny I thought it would be a really cute gift for my daughter. The only thing I didn't like about it was the face. I wanted a cuter face. I copied how young children's eyes close when they smile and did that for the eyes. Instant cute, at least in my opinion it's cute!

I had two ideas for the main theme of the bunny. The first was an older mother-like bunny with an apron. The second was the young ballerina bunny. In the end, I liked the second theme better.
I made a custom pattern for the ballerina slippers. I'm not entirely happy with the slippers. I think the pattern needs tweaked a little bit; however, I think I will leave it as it is for now. I can make the pattern available upon request.
The tutu was a very simple design. I made it removable in case the glitter got too messy. I will post a tutorial on the tutu next week.
Finally, the flower was very easy to make as well. I just took two white wedding flowers and sewed them together in the middle with yellow thread. I then sewed it to the bunny's head. Done!
Overall a very fun simple project to make. For one of my first crochet projects, I think I did pretty well. My daughter seems to like it too!

Happy crocheting!
